Aldemar Royal Mare Village & Thalasso gilds its end of year celebrations with gold at the internationally recognised World Travel Awards.
On 11 December, travel agents all over the world voted for the best companies across the range of all tourist products in the competition held in Barbados. The top award in the category for Greece’s Leading Spa Resort went to the Aldemar Royal Mare Village & Thalasso.
The opening of Royal Mare Thalasso in 1997, the first thalasso centre in Greece, sets the standards of a completely new market for Greece, that of wellness tourism, by launching the product of Thalassotherapy.
Τhe Royal Mare Thalasso has now been running successfully for 8 years, with a 35 % annual returning clientele rate. Ongoing investment in facilities, staff training and product enrichment has made the centre a point of reference for the European market of wellness tourism.
The opening of the Royal Olympian Spa & Thalasso in the West Pelopponese has once again allowed Aldemar to diversify and enrich its wellness product options, reinforcing its pioneer trend in the field of specialist forms of tourism.
Mr. Alexandros Angelopoulos, executive director for Aldemar, stated that:
«I would like to thank personally all those who voted us as winners of this year’s World Travel Awards. At a time when enrichment of the Greek tourist product has been indicated as the most important objective by both state and the market, this award recognises Aldemar’s systematic efforts to create a quality competitive product. “
